Stephen Wilson Jr. Ignites ‘Gary The Torch Tour’ Across North America in 2026

Kenji TanakaKenji TanakaMarch 6, 20262 Minutes read

Stephen Wilson Jr. has launched his “Gary The Torch Tour.” This extensive North American tour began on March 6, 2026. It marks a significant milestone for the rising country music artist. The tour is scheduled to run through April 25, 2026. Wilson Jr. announced the tour on November 10, 2025. This music tour follows his highly successful “søn of dad” tour. That previous tour spanned over two years and reached global audiences. The “Gary The Torch Tour” promises to bring his distinctive sound to fans across the continent.

A Unique Musical Voice

Stephen Wilson Jr. is celebrated for his unique musical style. He calls his sound “Death Cab For Country”. This blend incorporates elements of country, rock, grunge, and indie music. His influences range from classic country artists like Willie Nelson to grunge giants like Nirvana. Wilson Jr. is also known for his raw, honest storytelling. His lyrics often explore themes of personal struggle and resilience. His music is described as having an outlaw aesthetic. It features a deep, rumbling voice. His delivery is often self-conscious yet forceful. Many find comfort and strength in his intimate music.

Background and Rise to Stardom

Wilson Jr.’s journey to music stardom is unconventional. He was born in rural southern Indiana. He is a former microbiologist. He also competed as a Golden Gloves boxer. These varied experiences shape his artistic perspective. Wilson Jr. transitioned to music after his father’s passing in 2018. His debut album, “søn of dad,” is a tribute to his late father. It features 22 songs exploring self-discovery and healing. The album was critically acclaimed. It was named the No. 1 album of 2023 by Holler. It also received praise from Rolling Stone and other publications.

Pre-Tour Buzz and Accomplishments

The “Gary The Torch Tour” announcement follows a period of significant activity for Wilson Jr. He performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on November 18, 2025. He also performed at the 59th Annual CMA Awards on November 19, 2025. At the awards, he was nominated for New Artist of the Year. He performed a duet with Shaboozey and a rendition of “Stand By Me”. His version of “Stand By Me” has millions of streams. He also made his headline debut at the Ryman Auditorium in November 2025 with two sold-out shows. Wilson Jr. released a deluxe edition of “søn of dad” in 2025. Additionally, he released his “Blankets” EP that year. He performed the national anthem at the 2025 NFL Draft. Rolling Stone named him one of country music’s most electrifying new artists.

“Gary The Torch Tour” Itinerary

The “Gary The Torch Tour” kicks off in Columbus, Ohio. It includes stops in major cities across North America. Key locations include Toronto, Canada; Boston, Massachusetts; Brooklyn, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Chicago, Illinois. Additional confirmed dates include Grand Rapids, MI; Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; and Denver, CO. The tour features 17 dates. Tickets went on sale to the public on November 14, 2025.

Future Endeavors and Music

Beyond the “Gary The Torch Tour,” Wilson Jr. has future plans. He is scheduled to perform at festivals like Mile 0 Festival in Key West. He will also support Eric Church on select dates in February 2026. Wilson Jr. also has a confirmed performance in Dublin, Ireland, on June 30, 2026, as part of the Trinity Summer Series. His music continues to evolve, with recent singles like “Gary” gaining traction. His songs are noted for their intricate lyrics and compelling narratives. The country music scene eagerly anticipates his continued artistic growth.
