Country Music Dominates Summer with Major Tours and Festivals Amidst Record-Breaking Events

Kenji TanakaKenji TanakaJune 15, 20252 Minutes read

Country music is experiencing a vibrant summer season, marked by the commencement of Morgan Wallen’s expansive “I’m The Problem Tour,” the anticipation surrounding the 28th annual Country Jam festival, Lainey Wilson’s headline performance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, and the monumental success of the 52nd CMA Fest.

Morgan Wallen Kicks Off Major Stadium Tour

Morgan Wallen’s highly anticipated “I’m The Problem Tour” launched on June 20 in Houston, signaling his significant return to large-scale live performances after a two-year hiatus. This extensive 19-date stadium tour supports his latest album, aptly titled “I’m The Problem.” The tour boasts impressive collaborations, featuring guest appearances from country music titans Miranda Lambert, Brooks & Dunn, and Thomas Rhett. Wallen’s setlist is designed to captivate audiences, expertly blending new material, including tracks like “Lies Lies Lies,” with beloved fan favorites such as “Last Night.” The performances are enhanced by immersive stage production, promising a dynamic visual and auditory experience for attendees.

A meaningful aspect of the tour is its philanthropic commitment. A portion of the proceeds generated from the “I’m The Problem Tour” will be directed to the Morgan Wallen Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to supporting youth music and sports programs, reflecting Wallen’s engagement with community initiatives.

The sheer scale of this tour underscores Wallen’s enduring influence within the country music landscape, even in the wake of past controversies. It also highlights the genre’s remarkable capacity for artist redemption and the steadfast loyalty of its fanbase.

Country Jam and Summerfest Feature Star-Studded Lineups

Further cementing the summer’s country music momentum, the 28th annual Country Jam festival is set to take place in Grand Junction, Colorado, from June 26–28. This year’s festival will feature headlining performances from country superstars Luke Bryan, Bailey Zimmerman, and Cody Johnson. The lineup promises a diverse array of talent, emphasizing genre fusion with notable appearances from artists such as Tracy Lawrence, Flatland Cavalry, and Ashley Cooke, catering to a wide spectrum of country music tastes.

Adding to the summer’s concert calendar, Lainey Wilson is slated to headline Milwaukee’s Summerfest at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on June 26, 2025. This performance is part of her own “Whirlwind Tour” and coincides with significant career milestones. Wilson recently earned the prestigious CMA Entertainer of the Year award and has received critical acclaim for her latest album, “Bell Bottom Country.” Her inclusion at Summerfest further solidifies her position as a leading figure in contemporary country music.

CMA Fest Breaks Attendance Records

Meanwhile, the 52nd CMA Fest concluded on June 8 in Nashville, achieving a record-breaking attendance of 300,000 fans. This annual celebration of country music featured a vast roster of artists, including emerging talents like Zach Top and popular figures such as Jelly Roll and Noah Kahan, alongside many others. The event not only showcased musical performances but also highlighted the industry’s commitment to future generations. The CMA Foundation announced a substantial donation of $2.5 million towards music education initiatives, reinforcing the festival’s dedication to nurturing aspiring musicians and preserving the art form.
