Country Radio Hall of Fame Welcomes 2025 Class Amidst 50th Anniversary Festivities

Nashville, TN – The Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) marked a significant milestone this year, celebrating its 50th anniversary with the highly anticipated 2025 Country Radio Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Held on July 21st in Nashville, the event honored a distinguished group of individuals who have profoundly shaped the landscape of country music radio.

A Legacy of Excellence: 50 Years of Country Radio

The CRB’s golden anniversary was commemorated with a series of special events designed to honor five decades of country radio excellence. A standout initiative was the debut of “Legends of Country Radio,” a new 24/7 streaming channel accessible on WSM-AM. This platform aims to preserve and showcase the rich history of the format, offering listeners a constant connection to the music and voices that have defined country radio.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, a three-night songwriter series captivated audiences at the iconic Bluebird Cafe. This intimate setting provided a unique opportunity to experience the creative forces behind many of country music’s greatest hits. The series kicked off on July 22nd with “An Evening Honoring Lon Helton,” a special tribute that featured heartfelt performances by acclaimed artists such as Matraca Berg, Steve Bogard, and their friends. The following night, July 23rd, the spotlight turned to “An Evening Honoring Nan & Bob Kingsley,” with Steven Dale Jones, Will Robinson, Bobby Tomberlin, and D. Vincent Williams taking the stage to share their talents and honor the legacy of the Kingsley duo.

Honoring Key Contributors and Inductees

Beyond the Hall of Fame inductions, the CRB also recognized individuals for their pivotal contributions to the industry. Jon Loba, President of Frontline Recordings for BMG Americas, was presented with the 2025 CRB President’s Award. This prestigious award acknowledges Loba’s unwavering dedication and his crucial role in fostering the success of the Country Radio Seminar, as well as his broader impact on advancing the country music format.

The Class of 2025: A New Pantheon of Radio Legends

This year’s Country Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony formally welcomed a new cohort of influential figures. The on-air personality category saw the induction of Big D & Bubba, Mary McCoy, and Rowdy Yates, whose voices and personalities have resonated with countless listeners across the nation. In the radio honoree category, Ginny “Rogers” Brophey, Clay Hunnicutt, and Gregg Swedberg were recognized for their significant behind-the-scenes achievements and leadership in the field.

The 50th-anniversary celebration underscored the enduring power and cultural significance of country radio. The CRB continues its mission to foster growth and innovation within the industry, ensuring that the legacy of country music radio remains vibrant for generations to come. The successful ceremony and associated events served as a fitting tribute to the past while looking forward to the future of this beloved format.
