This song promises a high-energy experience. It captures the spirit of spontaneous fun. The duo is known for their engaging country sound. This new release follows a very successful 2025 for them. Each prior song contributed to their growing popularity.

A Night Out Anthem

“Wasn’t Thinkin'” is designed for a good time. It tells a story about a night at a honky tonk. The song’s imagery is relatable. It perfectly captures the carefree nature of a night out. Fans will enjoy its boot-stomping groove. The chorus is made for singing along. It embodies the idea of not overthinking a fun evening. The track features cranked-up guitars. It also has a powerful, driving beat. This new music is a true honky-tonk rocker. It’s built for late-night stories. It’s perfect for last call. The song embraces the fun of pure, unadulterated revelry. It leans into neon-lit mischief. It celebrates the joy of living in the moment. The title itself says it all. You don’t need to overthink a good time. This sentiment guides the entire track. Vivid snapshots paint the picture. Think karaoke bars and double pours. Morning-after memories also feature. The song embodies reckless fun. Good decisions sometimes take a backseat. Good times always take the lead.

The Masterminds Behind the Music

Talented songwriters penned “Wasn’t Thinkin’.” Joey Hyde is one of them. Ryan Follesé also contributed. Emma-Lee is the third co-writer. These artists bring diverse experiences. Joey Hyde is a true triple threat. He is a guitarist, songwriter, and producer. He is also an independent artist. Hyde has written many successful songs. He co-wrote Jake Owen’s number one hit “Made for You”. His credits include music for Kameron Marlowe and Ryan Hurd. Hyde’s early influences included rock legends. Led Zeppelin and AC/DC shaped his sound. He moved to Nashville in 2006. There, he played in honky-tonks.

Emma-Lee is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She is now based in Nashville. She writes songs for many country artists. Her co-writing credits include Mickey Guyton and Trisha Yearwood. Emma-Lee’s own music blends pop and country styles. She moved to Nashville in 2017. She sought to focus on her songwriting career.

Ryan Follesé is a key part of this project. He is, of course, one half of the duo. He brings his own significant songwriting talent. His roots are deeply in country music. His parents are also successful songwriters.

Ryan and Rory: A Harmonious Union

Ryan and Rory formed their duo officially about a year before May 2024. Ryan Follesé and Rory John Zak are the duo’s members. Ryan grew up in a musical household. Ryan later pursued a solo country music career. He has earned an American Music Award. He is also a 2X Platinum-selling songwriter.

Rory John Zak hails from North Carolina. He found his passion for music early. His father played piano and guitar. Rory became the youngest full-time cast member of The Carolina Opry. He was only 17 years old. There, he performed over 300 shows annually. He is a powerful vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

The two artists met around seven years prior to July 2024. This happened at a LOCASH concert. Ryan was opening for LOCASH then. A few years later, a mutual friend reconnected them. Their musical styles fit perfectly. They realized it was an incredible fit very quickly. They share many common interests. This connection helps them on the road.

It became a SiriusXM Highway Find. Other popular songs include “This Town” and “Truck Stop”.

They have toured with major artists. Sam Hunt and Jamey Johnson are among them. Ryan and Rory also made their Grand Ole Opry debut. MusicRow praised them. They called the duo “poised to make major waves”. They are seen as “the next heir apparent to the country duo throne”. Their recent releases showcase both heart and fun. They released “Together Again” featuring Jamey Johnson. Other notable songs include “Them Boots” and “Girls Are Pretty”. They also released “Lawn Chair In The Living Room” in late 2025. This build-up has prepared them for this new single.
