Bourbon & Beyond 2026: The Biggest Lineup in Festival History

Hana ChenHana ChenApril 3, 20262 Minutes read

The highly anticipated Bourbon & Beyond festival is set to return to Louisville, Kentucky, from September 24–27, 2026, promising an unprecedented experience as the world’s largest music, bourbon, and culinary event. Festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents has officially revealed the complete 2026 artist roster, which features over 100 acts spread across five distinct stages at the Kentucky Exposition Center, headlined by global icons Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Chris Stapleton, and Dave Matthews Band.

A Four-Day Musical Extravaganza

Each night of the festival offers a unique sonic identity, curated to showcase a broad spectrum of talent. The Thursday kickoff, September 24, will be anchored by the powerhouse rock energy of the Foo Fighters, supported by Queens of the Stone Age and Goose. The following night, Friday, September 25, pivots toward folk and Americana sensibilities with headliners Mumford & Sons, joined by Kacey Musgraves and Foster the People. Saturday, September 26, is dedicated to country roots, featuring Kentucky’s own Chris Stapleton, alongside rising stars The Red Clay Strays and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The festival concludes on Sunday, September 27, with the Dave Matthews Band—who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal album ‘Crash’—sharing the final stage with Hootie & the Blowfish and Counting Crows.

Beyond the Headliners: An Eclectic Mix

The depth of the 2026 lineup extends far beyond the top-tier names. The festival organizers have meticulously built a bill that spans genres and generations, ensuring that every attendee finds something to resonate with. The eclectic roster includes veteran acts and modern favorites such as The Flaming Lips, The War on Drugs, Gary Clark Jr., Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Father John Misty, Cheap Trick, and Violent Femmes. By mixing legacy rock bands with contemporary indie darlings like Noah Cyrus and Of Monsters and Men, the festival continues to solidify its reputation as a destination event that bridges the gap between traditional music fans and a newer, younger audience.

The Bourbon & Beyond Experience: More Than Just Music

While the music is the primary draw, Bourbon & Beyond is designed to be a holistic sensory experience. Attendees gain more than just access to the stages; the festival includes complimentary rides at the neighboring Kentucky Kingdom amusement park, adding a layer of thrill to the musical weekend. Furthermore, the event continues to lean heavily into its namesake identity, offering curated bourbon experiences, food pairings from local restaurants, and the popular Kroger Big Bourbon Bar, which serves as a hub for both libations and specialized performances. Danny Wimmer has emphasized that the festival is designed to be an “escape with soul,” a sentiment reinforced by the layout and the myriad amenities provided to those seeking a vacation within a vacation.

Economic Impact and Festival Growth

Now in its eighth year, Bourbon & Beyond has become a significant economic driver for the Louisville region. With attendance regularly surpassing 200,000 visitors, the festival has generated tens of millions of dollars in local economic impact. The decision to expand to five stages and incorporate such a massive, diverse lineup is a strategic move to accommodate growing demand and maintain the festival’s competitive edge in an increasingly crowded festival market. The logistics, including improved site flow and group reward programs, are clearly aimed at elevating the attendee experience to match the prestige of the booking roster. Tickets, including various VIP packages, are already on sale, signaling a strong start to what promises to be the region’s standout cultural event of the year.
