Chicago is once again buzzing with the aroma of slow-cooked barbecue and the sounds of chart-topping country music as the Windy City Smokeout kicks off its 12th annual celebration. The premier outdoor festival, held just outside the iconic United Center, commenced its four-day run on Thursday, July 10, 2025, promising an unforgettable weekend for music lovers and barbecue aficionados alike.

This year’s Smokeout boasts a robust lineup featuring some of country music’s biggest names. The opening day, Thursday, July 10, is headlined by the electrifying performances of Bailey Zimmerman and Koe Wetzel. Fans were also treated to sets from Shane Smith & The Saints, Angel White, and Bayker Blankenship. Adding a unique flair to the day’s festivities, special guest DJ Sommer Ray kept the energy high between sets.

As the festival continued into Friday, July 11, the energy remained palpable with headliners Old Dominion and Dylan Gossett taking the stage. The day’s lineup was further enriched by performances from Jamie Belushi, Josh Meloy, Lauren Watkins, and Maggie Antone, showcasing a diverse range of country talent.

Saturday, July 12, promises to be a major highlight, with powerhouse performances scheduled from headliners Kane Brown and Megan Moroney. The extensive roster for Saturday also includes the acclaimed Charles Wesley Godwin, the rising star Austin Snell, and the promising talent of Kashus Culpepper, ensuring a day packed with must-see acts.

The festival will draw to a close on Sunday, July 13, with a grand finale featuring headliners Jon Pardi and Riley Green. Fans can also look forward to performances from Ella Langley, Sam Barber, Josh Ross, and the energetic Back Country Boys, bringing the 2025 Windy City Smokeout to a memorable conclusion.

Beyond the impressive musical acts, the Windy City Smokeout is renowned for its celebration of authentic barbecue. This year’s event features a mouthwatering array of culinary talent, bringing together both beloved local Chicago establishments and acclaimed pitmasters from across the nation. Attendees can savor the flavors of Chicago favorites such as Lexington Betty Smokehouse, Soul & Smoke, Green Street Smoked Meats, and Bub City. The festival also welcomes esteemed national vendors, including Heritage Barbecue hailing from California, Meat Mitch Barbecue from Kansas, and Little Miss BBQ all the way from Arizona, offering a true taste of America’s diverse barbecue landscape.

The festival’s schedule is designed to maximize the experience for attendees. On Thursday and Friday, the festivities will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The weekend days, Saturday and Sunday, will offer slightly extended hours, with the event open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., allowing ample time to enjoy the music, food, and vibrant atmosphere.

Tickets for the Windy City Smokeout are available in both four-day passes, offering access to the entire weekend’s festivities, and single-day tickets, providing flexibility for those who wish to attend specific dates. This allows fans to tailor their festival experience to their preferences, ensuring that everyone can join in the celebration of country music and exceptional barbecue.
