Morgan Wallen Dominates July Charts as Country Music Sees Genre Evolution and New Star Power

Shanice WilliamsShanice WilliamsJuly 6, 20252 Minutes read

Morgan Wallen continues his reign atop the country music landscape, leading the July 2025 charts with his hit single “Just in Case.” The superstar’s pervasive influence is further underscored by four additional tracks charting within the Top 40, cementing his status as a genre-defining artist.

New Talent Ascends the Ranks

Amidst Wallen’s chart dominance, emerging artist Ella Langley is making a significant impact. Her track “Weren’t for the Wind” has climbed to the impressive #3 position on the charts, signaling her arrival as a bona fide breakout star in the genre. Meanwhile, the collaboration between Bailey Zimmerman and Luke Combs, “Backup Plan,” has also surged into the Top 5, further demonstrating the strong collaborative spirit and evolving sound within country music.

Zach Bryan’s Creative Output from London Studio

Zach Bryan has treated fans to a trio of new releases, all recorded at the legendary former studio of David Bowie in London. The newly released songs include “Streets of London,” “River Washed Hair,” and “Song for You.” These releases follow Bryan’s recent performances at BST Hyde Park, signaling a period of prolific creativity and international artistic exploration for the singer-songwriter.

Veteran Artists Unveil New Projects

This month also marks significant releases from established country music royalty. Trisha Yearwood is set to release her highly anticipated album, “The Mirror,” on July 18. Notably, this project represents Yearwood’s first fully self-written and co-produced album, delving into introspective themes of self-doubt and personal resilience. In parallel, Grammy winner Cam is also releasing her new album, “All Things Light,” on the same date, July 18. Cam’s latest work explores the profound themes of motherhood and the enduring nature of legacy, offering a personal and reflective perspective.

Genre-Bending Trends Gain Momentum

The increasingly prevalent fusion of country and rap is continuing to capture the industry’s attention. The recent release of BigXthaPlug and Shaboozey’s track “Home” on June 28 serves as a prime example of this burgeoning trend. This collaboration highlights a broader movement towards genre-blending within country music, attracting new audiences and expanding the sonic boundaries of the genre.

Live Performances and Industry Milestones

Fans in the Pacific Northwest can look forward to Morgan Wallen’s “I’m The Problem Tour” making its way to Seattle for stadium shows on July 25–26. The tour promises distinct opening lineups each night, featuring esteemed artists such as Miranda Lambert and the legendary duo Brooks & Dunn, offering a diverse and star-studded concert experience.

In other industry news, rising artist Jay Webb has secured a significant career milestone. Ahead of his upcoming album release, “Where To Find Me,” on July 25, Webb has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing. This development underscores the industry’s ongoing investment in authentic storytellers and promises further support for Webb’s burgeoning career.
