Country Music’s September Sound Surge: A Bounty of New Albums Released on the 19th

Kenji TanakaKenji TanakaSeptember 19, 20254 Minutes read

The autumn of 2025 is set to be a significant one for country music fans, with Friday, September 19th, marking a particularly robust release day for new country albums. This date sees a diverse array of artists, from established legends to rising stars, dropping their latest musical offerings, promising a rich tapestry of sounds for the country music landscape and exciting new country music releases.

A Posthumous Gift from a Country Icon: New Country Albums from the Past

One of the most poignant releases arriving on September 19th is “Endlessly: a Tribute to Brook Benton” by the legendary Charley Pride. This album represents a unique discovery among the new country albums: a collection of recordings from the mid-1980s that remained unreleased until now. Forgotten tape reels, found in Pride’s Dallas production office in 2017, were painstakingly transferred and remastered, revealing Pride’s soulful homage to R&B singer-songwriter Brook Benton. The 10-track project, released via Music City Records, blends country, R&B, and pop, showcasing a different facet of Pride’s artistry just as the world prepares to celebrate Benton’s 94th birthday. The release offers fans a chance to connect with Pride’s enduring legacy through a project that was years in the making, a truly special addition to the September 19th albums lineup.

Debut Statements from Emerging Voices: Essential New Country Albums

September 19th also heralds the arrival of significant debut albums from artists poised to make a lasting impression, offering fresh perspectives within the realm of new country albums. Kentucky native Chase McDaniel is releasing his autobiographical debut full-length album, “Lost Ones,” via Big Machine Records. This Chase McDaniel debut, co-written entirely by McDaniel, delves into profound themes of grief, loss, resilience, and healing, offering a raw and honest portrayal of his personal story. Similarly, viral country riser Drew Green will debut his much-anticipated 18-track album, “What You’re Looking For,” on RECORDS Nashville. This Drew Green album describes the project as a comprehensive story of his journey, encompassing highs, heartbreak, and the grit required to persevere. This collection features collaborations with artists like HARDY and 501 Bryze, promising a dynamic listening experience among the September 19th albums.

Established Artists Showcase Evolution and New Directions in New Country Albums

Beyond debuts, the date is packed with new music from artists who have already carved out a place in the genre, showcasing the breadth of new country albums. Chase Rice is set to release his 12-track album, “Eldora,” on his birthday, September 19th. This Chase Rice Eldora project, written and recorded during a week-long session in a Colorado cabin, is described by Rice as his strongest work to date, incorporating western themes, ballads, and narrative-driven songs, with contributions from Kashus Culpepper, Elvie Shane, Wyatt McCubbin, and Madeline Edwards. This project represents a creative reset, focusing on authentic storytelling and moments that matter.

Canadian country force Josh Ross will also release his highly anticipated debut full-length album, “Later Tonight,” on September 19th via MCA/Mercury Nashville. This Josh Ross Later Tonight album, produced by Matt Geroux, builds on the emotive, rock-tinged country sound that has defined his ascent, featuring hits like “Single Again” and “Hate How You Look.” The album’s release marks another significant milestone for the reigning CCMA Entertainer of the Year, adding another compelling entry to the list of new country albums.

Meanwhile, the trio Runaway June is set to launch their second album, “New Kind of Emotion,” on the same day. This 13-track Runaway June album marks a significant evolution for the band, blending traditional country instruments with modern sounds and themes of friendship, independence, and love. Eleven of the tracks were co-written by members Jennifer Wayne, Natalie Stovall, and Stevie Woodward, reflecting three years of exploration and growth. The album is noted for its diverse soundscapes, influenced by various producers and the band’s own Latin heritage, promising an uplifting and empowering collection among the September 19th albums.

Evan Honer, known for his viral cover of Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant,” will release his third studio album, “Everything I Wanted (Cloverdale),” on September 19th. This Evan Honer album sees Honer moving beyond his acoustic Americana roots, embracing a more energetic and expansive sound with indie and alternative-pop influences. Recorded in his home studio, the 13-song project represents a sonic evolution for the artist, adding to the diverse array of new country albums.

A Rich Day for Country Music Fans: Discovering New Country Albums

With such a diverse range of artists releasing new music on September 19, 2025, country music fans have a wealth of new country albums to explore. From the deeply personal narratives of debut albums to the sophisticated evolutions of established acts and the unexpected treasures from country music’s past, this release day underscores the genre’s dynamic and ever-expanding appeal.
