Country Music’s October Rush: Estes, Watkins, Block Lead Wave of New Releases

Wyatt WalkerWyatt WalkerOctober 10, 20255 Minutes read

The landscape of country music is abuzz today, October 10, 2025, with a significant influx of new country music releases from some of the genre’s most compelling artists. Fans are treated to a diverse collection of music, featuring the self-titled debut EP from Mae Estes, the highly anticipated second full-length album from Lauren Watkins, and Priscilla Block‘s latest sophomore effort. Alongside these prominent releases, several other artists have also dropped new music, marking this date as a major one for the country music scene and its new country music releases.

Mae Estes Unveils Self-Titled Debut EP: A Look at New Country Music Releases

Rising singer-songwriter Mae Estes is officially making her mark with the release of her self-titled debut EP, available today via Big Machine Records. This five-track collection offers a signature neo-traditional sound, blending introspective ballads with energetic back-porch anthems, solidifying her commitment to steel-string storytelling. The EP features previously released tracks such as “Mr. Fix It” and “Mountain Of A Man,” alongside two brand-new songs: “I Better Go” and “What She’s Havin'”. A new track, “Drunk On That,” also drops today, offering a vulnerable narrative about processing heartbreak through indulgence. Estes, originally from Hope, Arkansas, moved to Nashville in 2015, working various jobs while honing her craft and eventually signing her first publishing deal in 2020 before securing her record deal with Big Machine Records. Her music often draws inspiration from traditional country artists like Keith Whitley and Lee Ann Womack, aiming to connect with fans through honest, relatable narratives, making her one of the exciting new country artists contributing to today’s new country music releases.

Lauren Watkins Explores New Territory with “In A Perfect World”: A Highlight of New Country Music Releases

Lauren Watkins delivers her second full-length record, “In A Perfect World,” today, continuing her journey as a prominent voice in country music. This ten-song collection was produced by CMA/ACM Award winner Will Bundy, with additional co-production from Joey Moi on select tracks. Watkins, who co-wrote all ten songs on the album, has crafted a body of work that showcases her evolving sound, blending earthy sunset country with hazy heartland grit. The album explores themes of finding new perspectives and embracing home, moving beyond the heartbreak narratives of her previous work. Watkins, a Nashville native, spent her teenage years performing in local venues before attending the University of Mississippi. Her passion for songwriting blossomed during her college years, leading her back to Nashville to pursue a full-time music career. She has since signed publishing and recording contracts with Songs & Daughters and Big Loud Records. Notable tracks from the Lauren Watkins new album include “Slippery Slope” featuring John Morgan, “Average Joe & Plain Jane,” and “Marlboro Man,” adding to the impressive list of new country music releases.

Priscilla Block’s “Things You Didn’t See” Offers a Deeper Look at New Country Music Releases

Priscilla Block releases her much-anticipated sophomore album, “Things You Didn’t See,” a 14-track collection produced by David Garcia. This album marks a new chapter for Block, promising a mix of pop-country sensibilities and raw honesty, exploring themes she feels have been misunderstood in her career. The project includes her unique rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s classic “Cecilia” (titled “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia)” on the album) and a duet with Chase Matthew titled “Stranger Things”. Block, who rose to prominence through viral TikTok success with her song “Just About Over You”, has consistently shared her authentic self through her music. This new album dives deeper, offering songs like “Phones and Radios” and “Couldn’t Care Less”. The New York Times has already highlighted the album for its “tightly crafted, wordplay-heavy pop-country songs, which showcase both a tender heart and a smart mouth,” making the Priscilla Block sophomore album a standout among these new country music releases.

Other Notable Releases Round Out a Big Day of New Country Music Releases

Beyond these major releases, the day also sees other significant new music arriving. Platinum-selling artist Atlus makes his label debut with the six-song EP “Secondhand Smoke” on BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. This deeply personal project sees Atlus confronting themes of his upbringing, including a turbulent home life, his mother’s resilience, his sister’s battle with addiction, and his own mental health journey, adding another dimension to the day’s new country music releases.

Noah Hicks releases his debut project, “Small Town Does,” an eight-song EP on Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Co-written by Hicks, the EP is infused with authentic southern grit and features hard-working anthems and backroad ballads, including previously released tracks “Small Town Does,” “Get Enough,” and “Country Tonight,” further expanding the collection of new country music releases.

Additionally, the Zac Brown Band has released the single “Butterfly,” featuring the legendary Dolly Parton, from their upcoming album “Love & Fear”. This piano-driven ballad carries a message of hope and resilience, with Parton’s unmistakable voice adding a powerful new dimension to the song, showcasing the collaborative spirit within these October 2025 music releases.
